The classic 1950 performance contained on CD1 of Couperin's Lamentations inspired Stravinsky to ask Cuenod to sing in the premiere of The Rake's Progress, and it is appropriate that Stravinsky's first recording of the Cantata with Cuenod is also included. CD2 presents a healthy sampling of Cuenod's expertise with Mozart. For those who appreciate the fine art of the tenor voice, this album will be very much enjoyed. |
