Disc No: 8.224012 | C.E.F. Weyse was born in Northern Germany and came to Denmark in 1789. Here he joined the circle of German-speaking composers who lived and worked in Copenhagen. Weyse continued the Viennese classical tradition that had been introduced into Denmark by J.A.P. Schulz and F.L.Ae. Kunzen, and his seven symphonies from the 1790s reveal him as an imaginative instrumental composer. |
