Disc No: 8.224155 Hans Abrahamsen (b. 1952) is one of Denmark's most prominent composers. His earliest works were influenced by the so-called New Simplicity, but as early as the string quartet Ten Preludes from 1973 and the orchestral work Stratifications (1973-74), both of which have become major works in Danish music, he demonstrated a profoundly original personality and style, typified by imagination, a moving lyricism and spirituality. Abrahamsen's catalogue is short and consists mainly of instrumental works, several of which have won international fame.
