| Price: Sek. 600 | On 29th January 1996 La Fenice theatre in Venice was destroyed by arson. Firemen fought all night agains the fire, but in vain; and the whole world grieved the loss of that beautiful venue, which for decades had been at the centre of the Italian and European cultural life, and of opera. But the sorrow of such a great loss was soon replaced by the will of rebuilding such a historical place, following the motto "as it was, where it was" which brought also to the reconstruction of the S.Marco bell tower. |
