On two evenings in September 1995 a total of around one thousand singers, mostly from the Diocese of Salisbury, gathered in Salisbury Cathedral to make a recording of traditional carols, accompanied by Matthew Halls on the Willis organ with the Cathedral Choir and The Salisbury Brass Ensemble- The sessions were conducted by the cathedral's Assistant Organist David Halls, who also directed the cathedral choir's separate contribution of four unaccompanied tracks. The venture could not have taken place but for the great goodwill of those who took part, and 1 thank you all for your time and enthusiasm. |
