The most famous Finnish composer of the 20th century, Jean Sibelius is best known as a symphonic composer. His piano works are less frequently performed, and though he was not instinctively a composer for the keyboard, he wrote for the instrument throughout his life. Technically they are not demanding scores, though they abound in pleasant and tuneful melody, and are quite different to Sibelius's dramatic and rugged orchestral works. This is the second volume in a complete recording of his piano pieces, a catalogue that extends in total to twenty-six scores.
