Schönberg's work with 'Pierrot Lunaire' began as a concrete commission. This is unusual for Schönberg's production. Collaboration on the execusion an order often leads to tensions between the patron's wishes and the creator's artistic freeedom. In addition, Schönberg was also known for his strong personal integrity and uncompromising artistic morals. MA is a Swedish ensemble for the 20th and 21st century music. The group was formed in 1987and, now in an expanded form, attracted attention for their performace during ISCM world music days in Stockholm. Ing-Britt Ibba Andersson has in addition to her work as an opera and romance singer, through her work with MA entered into the depths of expressionistic song tradition, the art of early 20th century cabaret and contemporary music. |
