Musica Sveciae | The late 18th and early 19th centuries were one of the great periods of the string quartet in Sweden. Of the three quartets presented in this première recording, Wesström's provides an excellent example of Rococo, Eggert's a mature specimen of the classical quartet, and de Ron's a somewhat freer form of Viennese Classicism. The quartets are played by the internationally renowned British ensemble, The Salomon String Quartet. |
