Håkan Rosengren Internationally acclaimed clarinetist Håkan Rosengren appears as a soloist with orchestras throughout Europe - Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic, Porto Chamber Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic for example - and regularly performs in Poland and in Scandinavia - Swedish Radio Symphony, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Odense Symphony, Malmö Symphony, and Amadeus Chamber Orchestra. Rosengren has performed in recital throughout Scandinavia, including Copenhagen, Helsinki and Stockholm, and Europe, for example, Barcelona, Madrid, Vilnius and Geneva. He has been heard on TV and Radio in former Soviet Union, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Scandinavia. Since his debut on the American concert stage to rave reviews in New York City in 1988, Rosengren has performed in recital in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston and throughout the Midwest. He has appeared at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the La Joila Chamber Music Festival, Round Top Music Festival, Sandviken Chamber Music Festival, Rybna Castle Festival and Piteå Music Festival. | ||
Rosengren's studies include Soloist Diploma from the State Academy of Music in
Stockholm, and First Prize from the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp, Belgium,
where he was a pupil of Waiter Boeykens. His Stockholm solo debut was a performance
of Carl Nielsen's Clarinet Concerto with the Swedish Radio Symphony, a work Rosengren
later recorded for Sony Classical.
Rosengren's studies in the United States with James Kanter and Mitchell Lurie were funded by the Fulbright Commission and the Scandinavia America Foundation. During this time he won First Prize in the Los Angeles Arts Council Competition. His other awards include First Prize in the Nordic Soloists Biennial, First Prize in UNESCO's International Performer Competition, First Prize in Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition, and the Solo Recitalists Fellowship from the United States National Endowment for the Arts. He can be heard on Sony Classical, Musica Sveciae, Caprice, Nytorp Musik and Phono Sveciae labels. | ||
