Disc No: IDIS 6468/69 | As a new addition to its publications of some of the most memorable moments in the career of Dino Ciani, Istituto Discografico Italiano presents this double CD featuring the concert held by the Italian pianist at Milan’s Teatro Manzoni on 19th January 1970. On that occasion, in addition to some of his fortes such as Debussy’s Préludes and Bartók’s En plein air, Ciani performed also some pieces that he rarely played in public, such as Franck’s Prelude, choral and fugue and Albeniz’s Granada, all masterfully interpreted. This double CD also includes a wonderful performance of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 32, recorded live in Milan on 5th February 1968. |
